3 "Silent Sports" Mag Samples: Chequamegon, Fixies & Ultras
September 22, 2009
[$5 each, postpaid. One each of July, Aug., Sept. issues. Or, $10 for all 3! --Click button in main listing.]
"Silent Sports" is one of the only "outdoor sports for everyone" mags out there. It's a lot like an "Outside" magazine for plain folk. It so happens to have a Midwest bent, with an emphasis on Wisconsin and Minnesota, even, but it often has content that national readers would appreciate.
Now, there are free regional urban-area outdoor sports tabs also on the market, and they're dandy (Windy City Sports, Rocky Mountain Sports, etc.). "Silent Sports" takes their approach up a notch and extends it further into everyday action. The usual free metro-region outdoor sports tabs are almost entirely event-driven and are highly corporatized, being mostly chain-owned franchises at this point. "SS" is only half like that. The rest covers the bases of the everyday outdoor folk.
They're also getting rolling on a full-featured "Web 2.0" website and helpful forum at silentsports.net.
I like to help spread the word about this fine, responsive, neighborly mag. It's a mag that I've enjoyed reading since it first came out a couple decades ago now. So, each month I get extra copies to pass along as samples. So now I'm catching up and listing them here. Please just note which sample you'd like! (Note this in your order info after you click on the PayPal button under the photo at the upper left.)
